Dr. Mitchell enjoys consulting on an individual basis or as an scientific advisory board member. Her expertise covers a range of topics including: evaluation of analytical methods, data interpretation, experimental design, product development, corporate education and analytical support to enhance functionality, improve quality, identify biological relevance and ensure safety. Dr. Mitchell is co-director of the Food Safety and Measurement Facility at UC Davis and is a leader in contemporary food analysis methods and issues.

Dr. Mitchell especially enjoys the challenges of litigation support and has acted as an scientific advisor and/or expert witness on a range of topics for companies including: Mars, Inc, Haliburtin Foods, Inc.,  Sabatino Tartufi, Nature Nates Honey Co.,  A&B Ingredients, Tampa Bay Fisheries and the Almond Industry in California among others.
